Bruce McAvaney inducted into Logies Hall of Fame, reaction, speech

Bruce MacAvani stole the show at the 2022 Logi Awards.

The sports icon was greeted with applause as he walked into the lobby of TV Week and went to the microphone.

MacAvani delighted fans for countless years by presenting the award on Sunday night after the award-winning magician and AFL legend Lei Matthews behind the microphone.

“I’m emotional but my voice is not as strong as it should be tonight,” he said.

“I wondered how I would feel when I came here tonight. I really feel a lot of love and a lot of warmth. ”

He later thanked his wife, Ann, who had “a huge impact on his career.”

“Gary Fenton and Gordon Bennett taught me at Seven and introduced me to a young journalist, Anne Johnson. Thank you, Annie. ”

After Macavani was announced and the speech was released, social media continued to open.

“Beauty Bruce,” wrote Basil Zemplas.

Macaulay may be far from the AFL comment box, but the Olympic days are far from over. He refused to give up his retirement, saying that it was not too late.

“I’m really looking forward to it now,” he said.

“I will leave as long as I feel I can do better.”
