Craig Bellamy, Jahrome Hughes, Melbourne Storm vs Brisbane Broncos, Round 15, Cameron Smith

Craig Bellamy thanked half-defender Jahrome Hughes for giving his team-mates what they did not get after the retirement of Cameron Smith Brisbane.

One of the brilliant hurricane leaders and stars on the Broncos was the half-back Hughes, which had 75 meters, three tackle buses, line breaks, line breaks, rebounds and two attempts at the end of each half.

“I think everyone knows what I think of him as a footballer and especially about half of him,” Bellamy said.

“Over the last 18 months, the improvement has been tremendous.

Now I believe he got there with almost half of the race.

He has a good ball game. He had a great running game.

“He still has some confidence in his leadership.

“He’s not overconfident. He doesn’t have self-confidence naturally so I think he has to have self-confidence and he has definitely done that over the last two years.

“I think I said before that I would not change half of the race.”

Greg Alexander Hughes believes he is inferior because he does not shine on stage as a New Zealander.

“At the end of the first half they tried to go to Cameron Munster and to Jarom Hughes,” Alexander said.

“Hurricane Hughes knows how important it is.

“Because we don’t see him in representative football, his star may not be as bright as he should be.
