The future of head coach Anthony Griffin is reportedly under the microscope after the Dragons have reportedly sacked two of their assistant coaches for next season.
According to SMH, Griffin has informed assistants Peter Gertle and Matthew Head that they are not wanted next year, but both will stay on for the rest of the 2022 season.
Reports suggest the St George Illawarra club are temporarily putting their faith in Griffin, with chief executive Ryan Webb confirming the two assistants were informed of the decision on Tuesday.

According to Webb, the club are looking to make plans ahead of the 2023 season in hopes of improving mid-season.
The Dragons will reportedly begin the search for new assistants in the coming weeks, hoping to build a system around Griffin to ensure a footballing future in the coming years.
Earlier, Fox League’s James Hooper reported that there was “rebellion” in the Red V playing group.
Since then, Dragon officials have publicly chastised players who broke the news to the media, saying, “You don’t go crying and crying.”
