According to The Express, Franኪois de Jong wants to join former United boss Eric Ten Hague at Old Trafford as “95% complete” for Manchester United.
De Jong attracted the attention of the world in the 2019/20 Champions League campaign as Ajax ran to the semi-finals in their dream. That was, of course, under the tutelage of United manager Ten Haug, who was able to renew De Jong’s career after a brief campaign with Barcelona.
According to reports, the 25-year-old is “highly targeted by US officials” and could be released in Barcelona for around $ 120 million.
De Jong is said to be unacceptable to Barcelona and Zavi and could be the first signing of the Ten Hag era.
Arsenal plot to embarrass Thiamans
Arsenal have agreed a deal to bring Leicester City midfielder Yuri Tilemens to the Emirates on a free transfer next season.
The Belgian international has been linked with a move to the Gunners in the run-up to the Champions League. Tilmans’ contract with Leicester expires at the end of the season and a free transfer could take place in January.
Tilmans is a star for the Foxes in the 2020/21 season, but the struggling Leicester side are out of action in the 10th season.
Tilmans, who is technically gifted and needs some attacking freedom, can join Arsenal’s defensive line-up Thomas Partey and Norwegian Martin Odegard with ease.
United have rejected a West Ham extension
According to The Sun, Manchester United target Delan Rice will turn down an extension from West Ham in a bid to sign him next season.
West Ham have offered an impressive eight-year deal worth 35 353,000, hoping to keep their star midfielder.
However, the 23-year-old wants to play at the top of European football and instead listens to offers from Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea, all of whom are interested in signing Rice.
Rice has rejected a number of offers from West Ham following the departure of England international Harry Kane to Tottenham last season.
