Lionel Messi stole the show with a 3-0 victory over Copa America winners Italy 3-0 in Wembley on Wednesday.

Under the unbeaten Messi, Argentina took a two-goal lead in the first half of a friendly between Lautaro Martinez and Angel Di Maria.

Although Paulo Dibala completed the Argentine clash with Paris Saint-Germain, Messi’s attention was drawn to his return to form after a disappointing season.

The eye-catching 34-year-old scored two goals and was rarely seen in the big cathedrals of football.

A.D. It was another memorable moment for Argentina, who advanced to this year’s World Cup by beating Brazil after 28 years of qualifying for the 2021 Copa America.

Argentina have already established themselves as one of the leading rivals in the World Cup, and defeating Italy is another decision for La Albiselste, who is currently unbeaten in 32 games. This is the fourth longest time in the 2018-21 Italian record.

If Messi can play at this level in Qatar, Lionel Scaloni’s side will be a major force in their quest to win their first World Cup since 1986.

It was unfortunate to return to Wembley 11 months after Italy beat England on penalties in the Euro 2020 final.

After that memorable victory, Roberto Mancini’s side suffered a crushing defeat.

In the semi-finals of Northern Macedonia, they failed to qualify for the World Cup after a humiliating defeat.

After the World Cup defeat, Mancini is moving on to the younger generation, with his focus on the upcoming National League matches against Germany, England and Hungary.

Mancini’s reforms began in earnest at half-time when Italy’s 117-cap captain Giorgio Chilini was substituted before retiring from international football.

This is the third final between the European and South American Championships and the first after Diego Maradona and Argentina defeated Denmark in 1993.

Appropriately, Messi – the heir to the legendary Maradona – took the opportunity to remind the world of his incredible talent.

The 80,000-strong audience created a bright background for Messi’s lordship, with Argentine tyrants turning the city of Brent, north London, into a one-night stand for Buenos Aires.

Messi’s every touch boost the decibel level and Argentina took the lead in the 28th minute when Gianluigi Donaruma saved the ball.

Messi worked his magic on the touch line, with great strength to stop Giovanni de Lorenzo, before opening the right cross for Martinez, who also applied the finishing touch at close range.

He argued that Italy should have prevented the destruction of the building, but their opposition was in vain.

While still angry, Messi grabbed his face.

Di Maria avenges Messi in the first half. Martinez drove forward with a powerful shot and passed the ball to Di Maria, where the PSG striker had a stunning finish off Donarma.
