Lance Franklin’s future in Sydney looks set to end, with one of the game’s biggest names eyeing a move to Brisbane.
According to Channel 9, the premiership-winning forward’s nine-year multi-million dollar deal with the Swans is coming to an end, he wants to play and Chris Fagan has Lyon in his sights.
Franklin’s future has been up for grabs in recent weeks as the 35-year-old became just the sixth player in AFL/VFL history to kick 1000 goals earlier this year and wants to play.

According to reports, Franklin’s move may be due in part to his family’s desire to move north of the border. But despite his high-profile performances since leaving Hawthorn in 2013 not translating to a title with the Swans, he wants to remain a chance to win another flag.
The move will be a huge boost for the Lions, who are struggling to shake off the coveted title after years of being contenders.
One of those reasons is that the Lions haven’t won at the MCG for almost a decade, but Franklin’s arrival will give Fagan’s side a premiership win that will lift them big time.
He also joins Joe Daniher, Eric Hipwood and Charlie Cameron in the Lions’ attacking line-up.
More to come.
