Either Melbourne or Sydney will step away from the Grand Final with a win in a blockbuster qualifier at the MCG tonight.

After an inconsistent second half of the year, the Demons (16-6, 130.5%) looked to have hit their stride in the right season with a pair of crushing victories over Fremantle in Perth and Brisbane in Brisbane – proving they still have what it takes to win the flag.

The Swans (16-6, 127.9%) narrowly missed out on making this game at the SCG, but they’ll have little to worry about as they enter the final with a head of steam. They’ve won 10 of their last 12 games, including their last seven, making it 11 of Collingwood’s best in the process.

“Lots of rumors about Lance Franklin coming out with a calf. Sources indicated that this was not the case. Just a rumour. You play, Tom Brown He tweeted..

“We’ll definitely get 650 (6:50 p.m., when the final teams are confirmed).”

Tonight’s winner will face one of Geelong, Collingwood, Fremantle or the Western Bulldogs.

The loser of the night will host Brisbane in next week’s second semi-final.
