Madrid president Perez unsure Zidane would take PSG role as Pochettino exit looms

Zinedine Zidane has always been a target for Real Madrid and France and therefore will not play the role of Paris Saint-Germain if available.

This is a message from Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, who briefly outlines the vacancy at PSG.

Pochettino won the Ligue 1 title with PSG in the 2021-22 season, winning his first trophy as coach but losing in the last 16 of the Champions League to Madrid.

Following in the footsteps of Pochettino and Ligue 1 giants, European glory remains the main goal for PSG QSI.

Zinedine Zidane has been a key figure for PSG since before his appointment, but the 49-year-old’s selection is still to be considered.

Many believe Zidane is watching France’s work and the role of Didier Deschamps’ Les Blues will take place after the World Cup in Qatar later this year.

Zidane is the second most successful coach in the club’s history, having won 11 trophies with Los Blancos between 2016 and 2021.

Les Bleus have won the PSG Champions League three times in a row, winning three consecutive European Premier League titles between 2016 and 2018.

But when Perez spoke to the El Chiringo program in Spain, it is hard to imagine that PSG would get Zidane’s services.

“Zidane in Paris Saint-Germain? I do not know, but he has always been a member of Real Madrid and the French national team, “said Perez.

“That’s all I know about him. But maybe now he is in a different situation.

Pochettino is said to be among the favorites.
