Eight medical professionals have been charged with aggravated assault on Argentine soccer legend Diego Maradona, the court announced on Thursday (AEST).
A.D. No date has been set for the trial of Maradona’s death in 2020, which prosecutors say left him “destitute” and “hospitalized” at home.

Maradona died at the age of 60 after undergoing brain surgery and coping with cocaine and alcohol addiction.
Two weeks after his discharge, he was found dead in a rented apartment in Buenos Aires.
He was pronounced dead of a heart attack.
A team of 20 medical professionals called by the Argentine public prosecutor concluded last year that Maradona’s treatment was “flawed and flawed.”
