Australia captain Meg Lanning will take an indefinite break from cricket, Cricket Australia announced on Wednesday.
The announcement comes just days after Australia won gold at the Commonwealth Games.
A Cricket Australia statement said Lanning was taking a leave of absence for “personal reasons” and had pulled out of the upcoming hundred against the Trent Rockets.

“After two busy years, I’ve made the decision to spend my time focusing on myself,” Lanning said in a statement.
“I am grateful for the support of CA and my teammates and ask that my privacy be respected during this time.”
CA Head of Performance, Women’s Cricket, Sean Flagler, said: “We are proud to know that Meg needs a break and will support her during this time.
“She has made an incredible contribution to Australian cricket over the past decade, achieving impressive individual and team achievements and being a great role model for young players.
“The safety of our players is always our top priority, and we will continue to work with Meg to ensure she gets the support and space she needs.”
