Rafael Nadal ignored Taylor Fritz’s injury and his family’s request to retire at half-time when he reached Wimbledon semi-finals.

Nadal said he did not know if he could qualify for Friday’s Wimbledon semi-final against Nick Kyrgyz after he was ruled out of the World Cup with Taylor Fritz due to a stomach injury.

The second seed had to go out in the second round of treatment but won 3-6, 7-5, 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (10/4) in four boring matches. Hours and 21 minutes.

Nadal admitted that his father and sister had suggested he quit his quarter-final match against Fritz, but said he “hated” the idea.

“They told me I had to retire from the game,” Nadal said.

“Ah, I tried. It was hard for me to retire in the middle of the game. I have had that idea for a long time, but it is not easy.

“On the other hand, I’ve done it twice in my tennis career and it’s something I hate to do. So I keep trying and that’s it. ”

Nadal, who was given painkillers during the game, said he would undergo tests before deciding to play for all English clubs.

The Spaniard said his father and sister had been urging him to quit the quarter-finals against Fritz but he “hated” the idea.

“I fought,” he said. “I’m proud of the spirit of the war and the way I was able to compete in those situations.” Kyrgyz, ranked 40th in the world, is a big threat to even the most capable Nadal. The 22-time Grand Slam champion won 6-3 in the first round, but Kyrgyz advanced to the quarter-finals in 2014 when Nadal won before retaliation three years ago.

Not Taking the Court Nadal’s performance in the quarter-finals once again surprised many with his strength.
