Rory Lobb three goals against Western Bulldogs, first half, Fremantle Dockers, highlights, video, trade news, rumours, whispers

Gunners Fremantle forward Rory Lobb delivered an impressive – and timely – first-half performance against the Western Bulldogs amid high expectations of a move to Witton Oval.

Loeb scored three goals in the Marvel Stadium clash – nailing each from long range and the boundary line – in a stunning display to give his side a 23-point lead at the break.

It comes after Herald Sun reporter John Ralph reported on Fox Footy’s rival clubs that the 29-year-old is under contract at Fremantle until 2023 as he seeks a three-year, $1.5 million deal and will eventually be sold to the Western Bulldogs.

Well, a three-goal burst in the first half against Luke Beveridge’s side might just increase his wages.

“The funny thing about the three shots was that he hit them all from 50m or so. He had to run over the arc each time to get the extra leg in and he broke the needle three times in just three shots. “That’s unusual,” Hawks legend Jason Dunstall said on Fox Footy.

Demons great Gary Lyons compared Lobb’s goal kicking display to four-time Coleman Medalist Tony Lockett.

“This is a good three-point performance since ‘Pluger’ Lockett. “Good gravity is good too,” says Jason Dunstall.

“All you have to do is put the 50’s border ad in the little corner pocket where the lobes meet.”
