South Sydney enforcer Tom Burgess was sent off for the high kick that set up Cronulla half-back Nicho Hynes’ match-winning field goal on Saturday night.
A lazy arm from Burgess tipped Sharks center Ronaldo Mulitalo over the halfway line for a golden point with three minutes remaining.
Referee Gerard Sutton immediately awarded a penalty and sent Burgess straight off after settling the dispute between the players.
