Tribunal live updates, stream, how to watch, Zaine Cordy bump on Tanner Bruhn, video, suspension

Another fascinating test case came before the AFL Tribunal on Tuesday night, with Western Bulldogs player Zane Cordy referring directly to GWS’ Tanner Brown’s concussion – follow the hearing from 5pm AEST via the live blog below!

Cordy came shoulder-to-shoulder with Bruh in the Bulldogs’ Round 22 win, sending the young Giant to the ground where he hit his head on the Marvel Stadium pitch.

Bright had a shocker, but Cordy was waiting for teammate Ed Richards when the action took place within a legal five yards of the ball.

Match review officer Michael Christian decided not to grade the incident, instead referring the matter directly to the tribunal for a decision.

AFL 360 co-host Gerard Wyllie said the court hearing should be brief from the start.

“The Bulldogs’ legal team should open a motion to dismiss and chairman Jeff Gleeson should not hear this case,” he said.

“This has no function (by a match review officer) without payment.”

Co-host Mark Robinson agreed, calling it a “joke”.

“The AFL said, ‘What are we going to do here?’ They put themselves in a position to say.

“It was a fair shepherd near the ball, I didn’t hit him in the head, it was some kind of whip. That’s quite an achievement.

“We have to be able to keep some physical contact in this game. That was only fair. Going to court is very wrong.”
