´We are not at the best level´ – Luis Romo frustrated after Mexico held by Jamaica

Mexican star Louis Roma says his side are “not in a good position” after losing 1-1 to Jamaica in the CONCACAF Nations League.

Four minutes later, four minutes later, Shamar Nicholson’s header was converted by Lyon Bailey.

Jamaica could soon double its lead, but Nicholson’s rejection on the crossroads gave Mexico a good start to life.

In the first half, Mexico took advantage of the extra time to beat Jamaican goalkeeper Andre Blake.

However, Gerardo Martino’s side failed to find the back of the net in the second half, leaving them one point behind leaders Jamaica in the League of Nations.

With just five months to go until the World Cup in Qatar, Romeo admits his country is far from perfect but has backed it into a historic World Cup.

“We know we have to win everything inside, the criticism that we have to take. We know we are not very good or high, but we know very well what we can do,” he told TUDN.

“The opportunity to make the World Cup and history will inspire us a lot.”

Mexico were lucky not to miss out again in the second half when Kevin Alvarez scored from the break.

After rescuing a number of balls from Blake in the final 45 minutes, El Trey is believed to have shared the points, and Rome believes Mexico should also win.

“We were stuck in the second half,” Romo added. “I think we deserve more.”

However, coach Martino was content with the June International Games.

“All the players are very familiar with this training camp. Working with 38 players is complex; They did well, ”he told reporters.

“Each match had circumstances that allowed us to analyze the future.”

Mexico will not be in contention until August 31 when they face Paraguay in a friendly match in Atlanta.
